The future of ash is very bright indeed. Here’s why.
The UKQAA believes that the UK’s stocks of coal derived fly ash (CDFA) can be one of the key building blocks for a more sustainable future, providing a unique pozzolanic material that has many applications: both within the construction sector and beyond.
We offer our members access to data a comprehensive digital library of papers and case studies together with involvement in the latest research and a supportive network of contacts.

Industry Highlights
UKQAA pilot plant demonstration for legacy stockpiles:
Atritor & STET.
In June 2023, the UKQAA members worked with Atritor and STET to demonstrate how their technologies can be used to process legacy stockpiles of Coal Derived Fly Ash (CDFA) to meet European and American standards for use in cementitious applications. The STET carbon separation pilot plant was brought over from Needham, USA to sit alongside Atritor’s drying and de-agglomeration pilot plant in Coventry.
CDFA was successfully processed from a range of legacy stockpiles and witnessed by a number of stakeholder’s ranging from owners of CDFA deposits, potential investors in processing plants, cement companies, The Mineral Products Association and Government departments working on low carbon solutions.
